Houses combines a thematic, sculptural "house" containing a small television screen tuned to a local broadcast TV channel. The video functions in real time with live TV images. They juxtapose the tangible materials of each "house" with the insubstantial, random, temporal stream of imagery flowing onto the screens from broadcast signals. The electronics for the tuner are contained within each composition, allowing the displayed images to have their own presence.
